BBC – Dexamethasone COVID-19 drug hailed as major breakthrough

A widely used inexpensive steroid called dexamethasone becomes the first drug proven to be able to save the lives of COVID-19 patients in what scientists said is a ‘major breakthrough’

Oxford University researchers have announced conclusive findings relating to the treatment of seriously ill patients with COVID-19.

The UK’s chief scientific adviser says this is a ground-breaking development and the government has announced immediate approval for the use dexamethasone as a standard treatment in Covid-19 patients.
